no pets

I was reading this girl's website from her time in Guinea and she had a dog, and there were all these happy pictures of her and the dog, so cute! And then later on she wrote about how the dog ate the kitten she had gotten as a mouser. And then at the end of the trip she had the dog killed because there was no one to take care of it--but said it was his own fault because he had "broken the agreement," so obviously she is nutters but still! no pets for me. I have to keep that in mind. When it comes down to it, no matter how cute and sweet they are I'd pretty much have to leave them behind. So I'll stick to the chickens.
